HOV Lanes

HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes, or carpool lanes as they are sometimes called, are freeway lanes restricted to use by vehicles carrying more than one person. Typically a minimum of 2 people are required to share a ride before a vehicle can enter an HOV lane. This makes them ideal for vanpools - they're a great way to breeze past heavy traffic and save time.

HOV lanes aren't available everywhere. To find out more about HOV lanes in your area, enter your area code to go to your local VPSI HOV Lanes page.
